A Single Man: The Film

It’s been a long time since I come out of the cinema with such a sensation of plenitude. I watch a lot of films and most of them are of the kind you can forget before you get home.
This film, the first work from the american fashion designer Tom Ford, was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards in 2009 including Best First Feature and Best First Screenplay, is reallly wonderful.
The music, the camera, the colours, everything plays together to give you a really emotional experience. I can only recommend it, although I was told that not few people left the cinema in the middle of the play. Perheaps they expected another kind of plot, in all the film posters that I’ve seen is kind of ambigous.

The Killers performing Shadowplay in a video from the film Control by Anton Corbijn. This wonderful piece in black and white narrates the story of Ian Curtis, vocalist and lyricist of the band Joy Division ( formerly known as Warsaw).
I found it amazing, most of all the performance of Sam Riley who plays Ian Curtis.
